"Desert Wind" - The Israeli Guild

During 6,7th of June 2010, the Israeli guild had their second retreat. We gave the name "Desert wind" to this retreat since the event was in kibbutz “Sdote Yam” near the Mediterranean coast line. During the entire workshops we had the beautiful view of sea in front of us, and it was inspiring and stunning.

In the retreat we had 3 teachers giving 3 half day workshops, and the subjects were:

  • The 1st workshop was about How to make millefiori flower cane by Mars Tzigelnik
  • The 2nd workshop was about how to make bracelets by Iris Mishly based on a Maggie Maggio format, in this workshop the girls got tips on improving their skinner blend by adding colors and mixing colors
  • The 3rd workshop was about how to sculpt cats that peeks from a flowerpot by Idit Fischer Katz.
In the entire event there were 44 participants that took part and all the products they made were beautiful work of art, the classes were most enjoying and you can see the final products on the slideshow

We were fortunate to have Polyform’s Premo! Sponsorship with cooperation of the Israeli importers "Superkit" and we want to thank Iris Weiss and Yael for the generous contribution that we received which helped us a lot and was a huge success among the students. During "Desert Wind" we also had 10 demo classes by the Israeli artists, the participants learned how to make miniature owls, how to use a dremel, how to transfer photo with blender marker, how to make a hamsa without an outline decorative line, how to use Lisa Pavelka foil, how to use decal for oven, how to use a special powder instead of varnish, how to make a zebra cane, how to mimic actual folds in polymer clay ,and how to make jeans texture on clay.

For the first time we managed to bring Lisa Pavelka’s products to Israel with lots of help of one of the biggest importer in Israel “hobby any time” and they also gave the students a great gift - two enamel bottles and we wants to thanks them too. We also received lots of help and wonderful gifts from “Tapuz” company which hosts our guild on the net. I wish to thank you and all the people that helped us for the success of this event and hope that it will be came a tradition in our guild. You are all welcome to come and visit Israel and enjoy our event next year! And specially thanks to Bruria Hochman Iris Mishli and Anat Golditch for all the help that I receive from them during all the process.
