New Polymer Clay Guild Formed in Northern Colorado

On August 29, the guild will be hosting Maureen Carlson for a Wall Faces/Wall Masks workshop.

CALL TO ALL POLYMER CLAY, METAL CLAY, AND MIXED MEDIA INSTRUCTORS: POLYMER CLAY FESTS (and CABIN FEVER CLAY FEST) invites instructors in polymer clay, metal clay, mixed media, book arts, and fiber arts to submit workshop proposals and descriptions for the 4th Annual CFCF to be held in Laurel, Maryland in February 2011. Proposals will also be considered for CFCF 2012 and other future events.

Clay Fest/Inspired Muse Workshops

A Clay Fest/Inspired Muse Fest is scheduled for October 21-24 in Wausau, Wisconsin. Instructors will include Jeff Dever, Grant Diffendaffer, Nan Roche, Julie Eakes, Kathryn Ottman, and others. If you enjoy polymer clay, metal clay, book arts, stamping, or mixed media, this event is for you! Registration will begin in mid- to late July and continue until full. Be sure to follow our blog for further information. This will be another fun and exciting event!

 
Judging Progress and Possibilities
Progress and Possibilities

I was honoured to be asked to be a judge in this year's competition and found it a fascinating and rewarding process. The quality of the entries was fabulous and I so enjoyed seeing such a wonderful range of talent and ideas.

But what initially jumped out at me when viewing all the entries for the first time was the many wonderful fresh new creations that came from people who have only just started working in polymer clay. Some of the beginner entries were more accomplished and original than those of entrants who have been working in the material for some time.
